On this page you’ll find compiled lesbian and queer publications that have been published as a part of Lesbian Quarter since 1984. This is an archive of the newsletters Lesbozine, the magazines Lessbe, Pandora, and Viks.
We believe that archiving and preserving our history, our activities, and our struggles over the years is crucial to giving meaning to our lesbian identity. The collected publications embody this identity and remind us that lesbian visibility is created through action, not silence. Lesbian publications, newsletters and zines are a living reminder that visibility is not merely a gesture – it is activism, struggle, and constant action.
All published publications are in Slovenian.
Bilten Lesbozine
“That is why we want to encourage all women who empathize with other women, since each of us individually – and all of us together – have already somehow overcome a great deal of anxiety regarding a heterosexist society, and we want to express, within an organized circle, the empathy and collegial affection we share with like-minded women. Such a circle is absolutely necessary so that we can chat freely among our peers and live without prejudice.”

Pandora
“We are returning to the ‘classic guerrilla-style, fanzine-inspired way of working’—back to our roots, in other words. However, we can now say with certainty that we are simultaneously moving beyond the 1980s and 1990s, when the organized lesbian movement in Slovenia first began, since the initiatives that exist within the activist core of the LL lesbian group today are much more articulate and well-thought-out than they once were.”

Lessbe
“The purpose is clear.
The triangle of history is written every day,
and here and now,
it is important to be a stumbling block,
it is important to stand firm on the edge,
it is our duty to make a difference,
it is a fight to love. /…/”
Lessbe, July 2015
Viks
“If the history of homosexuality is to be read as a history of struggles, then it must also be read as a history of resistance against those struggles – that is, as a history of the organization of homosexuals. /../ In the end, we must regretfully conclude that female homosexuality – lesbianism -is underrepresented. This does not mean that the presence of lesbians in the homosexual subculture (and in cultural production in general) is weak. Nor does it mean that their contribution to the organization and struggle for the equality of homosexuals of both genders is any smaller. It simply means that the available material is predominantly male—and that another project will certainly be needed.”
